What is The Atlantic?
The Atlantic is an American magazine.Founded in 1857 in Boston, Massachusetts making it one of the oldest magazine publishers. With its first issue hitting the public November of 1857, it became an immediate success. It publishes literary and cultural based articles. The magazine has encouraged major careers in many of its writers. At its start after pushing through some financial hardships and many ownership changes it became a general editorial magazine. The magazines founder is Francis H. Underwood, who isn't incredibly well know, because as they say he is neither " a humbug nor a Harvard man". The magazine was originally called the Atlantic Monthly. It was known in history to publish articles written by famous abolitionist and poets, some of them being Mark Twain, Martin Luther King Jr., and Julia Ward Howe. Some of the current contributors are James Fallow,Molly Ball and David Frum. The Atlantic's current bias is towards the left wing. The Atlantic is now currently published from Washington D.C.
